Discrepancy in Patient Eligibility Status Between API and CHG Portal

Submitted by Apex on
Forums

We’ve encountered an issue where a patient is returned as Eligible via the API, but when checking the same patient in the CHG portal, he is marked as Not Eligible. This discrepancy is causing confusion and impacting our workflow.

To assist with your investigation, we’ve attached the API response.

Could you please help us understand:

  1. Why there is a mismatch between the API and the portal?
  2. How did this behavior occur?
  3. What steps can we take to avoid this in the future?

Thanks

Invalid Payer Id

I'm new to working with the Availity coverages API endpoint and see that there's an error common to the first few calls I've made:

"errorMessage": "Please enter a valid Payer ID.",

I'm using PayerIds taken from a document shared by Availity, so for example Providence Health Plan is listed as having a Payer Id of 101039.  Does anyone know why I would get an error rejecting this value?  It's throwing this error for everything I've sent, including KSRCN, 040, CHPWA, which all appear as valid Payer Ids in the shared documentation.
